FIRSTPLUS FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. ELECTS TWO NEW MEMBERS TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

IRVING, Texas, /PRNewswire/ -- FIRSTPLUS Financial Group, Inc. (FPFX.PK) has announced the election of Gary D. Alexander and Joseph D. Steward to its Board of Directors. Gary D. Alexander is President of Treasure Coast Private Equity, LLC, a Florida-based firm that focuses on offering debt and equity resources for privately-owned businesses poised for growth. A Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Alexander has 25 years of experience initiating both public and private offerings, private placement syndications, mergers and acquisitions as well as financing for small companies in the following industries: aircraft, internet services, telephone and VoIP, commercial and residential real estate, hotel, restaurant, petroleum, medical practices and facilities, entertainment and music.

Mr. Alexander has served as an expert witness in federal and state civil litigation cases, assisted counsel in mediation matters and served as Special Master, provided forensic and reconstructive accounting support expertise, and represented NASD broker-dealers as an auditor and consultant.

Mr. Alexander has served as acting CFO of Air Rutter International LLC and Airspace LLC, a Principal of Alexander Company CPAs, and a Partner with Pinchasik, Alexander and Company, CPAs.

Mr. Alexander earned a BBA degree in 1977 from Florida Atlantic University.

Since January 2002, Joseph D. Steward has served as Chief of Staff and General Counsel to State Senator Mike Stack, 5th Senatorial District, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In this capacity, he is directly responsible for supervising all staff members in five independent offices. Prior to becoming Chief of Staff, Mr. Steward served as campaign manager for Senator Stack, and later as his advisor for two years.

Mr. Steward is a member of both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey state bars. During his 17-year legal career, Mr. Steward was an Associate in the law offices of Meehan & Chesin, and most recently, the Managing Partner of Steward and McDermott, P.C. In 2006, Mr. Steward was appointed to the Pennsylvania State Board of Vehicle Manufacturers, Dealers and Salespersons.

Mr. Steward earned a BA degree in Criminal Justice in 1986 from Temple University. In 1990, he earned a JD degree from Widener University School of Law (formerly Delaware Law School).
